The implementation of the Constitution 2010 and the consequent Urban Areas and Cities Act 2011 was a great blessing to the Nation of Kenya and specifically to the Municipality of Embu. Current global trends are forecasting that above 60% of the population will be urbanized by 2065. This calls for undivided attention in preparation of the urban areas to accommodate this prospective growth. Provision of requisite infrastructure, improvement of service delivery and enhancement of administrative structures stand better achieved through the implementation of the UACA.
The Municipality of Embu, since inception in 2018 upon issue of Municipal Charter has been on the correct trajectory to make Embu a vibrant economic hub in the Central Eastern Kenya.
